Whisk all ingredients together, adding the lemon juice until the sauce is tart enough. Store in refrigerator until ready to use.
Notes
This sauce keeps for a few weeks so it’s all right to make more than is needed. We call it universal because it pairs well with steamed or grilled vegetables, such at broccoli, green beans, cauliflower, or as a dip with crudité or with any meat/fish that takes well to a little lemon boost.
